The film wastes no time in establishing the premise. Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi (HPBJ) has delightfully random humour, the kind that you can watch over and over again. It's always fun to watch, people caught up in extraordinary circumstances behaving like simpletons. Gangsters who've come to kidnap Happy and her husband, pick up the wrong Happy, while Guddu and his wife Happy are escorted to a university to deliver a lecture. Horticulture professor Happy (Sonakshi Sinha) arrives in Shanghai and the other Happy (Diana Penty) along with husband Guddu (Ali Fazal) also lands up in the Chinese city at the same time. Overall, a comedy which could have been better with right direction and script. Jassi Gill Does not have much to do along with Diane Penty and Ali Fazal. He is equally supported by Piyush Mihsra who will tickle your funny bone. He is outstanding and brings down the house with his antics. Jimmy Shergill leads the way with perfect comic timing. The only saving grace in the film is the performances. Art direction is good with high production value. The screenplay is fitted with too many loop holes. Movie does starts of well with hilarious moments and few scenes are actually enjoyable but the second half tumbles down. Sometimes, you have to gather your wits to understand what is actually going on. He tries to repeat the same in the sequel by bringing in more characters (Jassi Gill and Sonakshi Sinha) and confuses you with too much of things going one in just matter of seconds. Mudassar Aziz does well in the Happy Bhag Jayegi where he gives utmost importance to the key characters and result is fruitful.

Happy elopes from the wedding and jumps into a truck full of baskets. In the meanwhile, Happy, who hails from Amritsar is supposed to marry Daman Singh Bagga, a goon cum corporator.
